Willard Ramsay

January 7, 1933 — February 22, 2024

Willard Louis Ramsay, of Miramichi, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the age of 91.

Born in Chatham, NB, he was the son of the late Louis Willard and Bridget Cicilia (Connell) Ramsay. Prior to retirement, he was a saw filer at Anderson's Mill for 52 years, and was a member of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church.

A proud man with a great sense of humour and an impressive knowledge of history, Willard will be remembered for his love of a good story, his passion for the Montreal Canadians and his contagious laughter. 

He will be greatly missed by his daughter Yolande Ramsay of Montreal; son Joel Ramsay (Chantal Arsenault) of Montreal; and five grandchildren Kim Ramsay, Alex Ramsay, Xavier Martel, Joshua Simms, and Olivia Simms. He also leaves behind friends, neighbours, and his former spouse Luce Lessard.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Frederic Ramsay; and infant brothers Kevin and Cletus.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 2 pm, with Father Cornelius officiating. Interment will take place in All Saints Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

 As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
