Wayne Joseph Corcoran

It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne Joseph Corcoran announces his passing on May 23, 2026, at the Miramichi Hospital at the age of 70, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of Perley Corcoran and Doreen (McLean) Corcoran.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of forty years Donna (Clark) Corcoran, his brothers: Ronnie (Diane) of Chatham, NB, Brian (late Donna Bannister) of McKinleyville, NB, Patty (Paula) of Miramichi, NB and his sisters: Betty (Carl Murdock) of Miramichi, NB, Valerie (Jeff Colford) of Nelson-Miramichi, NB and Pam of Maple Glen, NB

He was predeceased by his father, Perley Corcoran.

Wayne possessed a lifelong love of the great outdoors and all of god’s creatures, especially his devoted dog Bengi and adoring cat Molly.

Hunting season was a favourite time of year to share good times and good spirits with his brothers on a crisp autumn morning. In his spare time, he enjoyed landscaping his home in summer and welcoming a wide assortment of birds to his feeders each winter; he also good-naturedly fed the hungry and humble chipmunks and squirrels.

A man of good humour and honesty, he found joy in all things and goodness in all people – caring deeply and lovingly for those close to him. Not one to mince words, he felt it was also important to see things as they are and tell it how it is.

In keeping with Wayne's final wishes there will be no public visitation.  Wayne will be laid to rest in a graveside ceremony at McKinleyville Cochranville Cemetery in McKinleyville, NB, on Monday, June 1, 2024, at 2 pm, officiated by Derrick Carnahan.

As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Miramichi SPCA or a charity of one's choice.
