  • Warren Ernest McLaughlin, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 29, 2016, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 87.

    Born in Newcastle, he was the son of the late William Ernest and Florence Edith (McKenzie) McLaughlin of Douglasfield.

    He worked with NBTel for 39 years until his retirement, and was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was also a member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, where he volunteered much of his time, as well as the Highland Society.

    He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Elizabeth (Lockerbie) of Miramichi; son, Bill (Linda) of Miramichi; daughter, Gail (Louis Aubé) of Dieppe; sister, Grace McLaughlin of Miramichi; five grandchildren, Kelly (Jeremy), John (Alicia), Tim (Geneva), Erica, and Kevin; two great grandchildren, Dylan and Eve; as well as his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John (Ethel) Lockerbie, Jim (Barbara) Lockerbie, Phyllis McLaughlin, and Sharon (Dave) Walsh all of Miramichi; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides his parents, Warren was predeceased by his brother, Ken McLaughlin.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Monday, August 1, 2016, from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 186 Pleasant Street, Miramichi, on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at 2pm.

    As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Extra Mural Nursing Program (Miramichi), or to a memorial of one’s choice.
