Walter John Peters

Walter "Tooka" Peters, of South Nelson, passed away peacefully at Percy's Place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the age of 69.

Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late Harold and Yvonne (Carnahan) Peters. He worked at Burchill Saw Mill and in the forestry industry prior to his retirement.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Donna (Landry) Peters of South Nelson; daughter, Tanya McGrath (Justin) of Quispamsis, NB; son, Talon Peters (Tina) of Calgary, AB; two sisters, Rosemary Green and Vicky Hebert, both of Miramichi; three grandchildren, Anders McGrath, Ruby Peters, and Taron “TJ” Peters; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Gary Peters, and sister, Alberta Corcoran.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Nelson on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 11 am, with Father Anthony Dass Papu officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations made to Percy's Place would be greatly appreciated by the family.
