Vivian Arletta Sturgeon

Vivian Arletta (Davidson) Sturgeon, of Upper Derby passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the age of 84.

Born in Newcastle, NB, she was the daughter of the late Lorek and Gwendolyn (Mullin) Davidson. She was a homemaker and also worked as a caregiver, and volunteer in the community. Her compassion, generosity, and spirit of giving benefitted many who knew her.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Alonzo Sturgeon of Upper Derby; her three sons, Brad Sturgeon (Kim Stewart) of Fredericton, Tom Sturgeon of Upper Derby, and Chris Sturgeon of Kingston, ON; sister, Evelyn Smith (Earl) of Saint John; brother Keith Davidson (Kathy) of Lloydminster, AB; six grandchildren Bill, Harry, Erika, Jordan, Sam, and Jack; great grandson Jules; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Ellen Miller.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A graveside service will take place in Miramichi Cemetery at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
