Mrs. Viola Marion Stewart Walls, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2010, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 87.

She was the daughter of the late Scott and Eunice (Sullivan) Coughlan. Viola was a homemaker and a member of St Andrew's United Church, in Blackville.

She is survived by one daughter Sharon Colford (Nicholas) of Chatham; two stepdaughters Patricia Dow of St John, and Janice Walls of Grimshaw, AB; four sons Alvin Stewart (Lois) of Blackville, Edward Stewart (Irene) of Moncton, James Stewart (Doreen) of Calgary, AB, and Jerry Stewart (Bonnie) of Calgary,AB; one stepson Victor Walls; one sister Dorothy Warren of Gray Rapids, NB; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Gordon Mountain Stewart.

The family will receive relatives and friends from St Andrew's United Church, in Blackville, on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, from 12 to 2 pm. Following the visitation, the funeral service will be held from St Andrew's United Church, at 2 pm, with Reverend Wendell Gregan officiating and assisted by Reverend John Stewart. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

As expression of sympathy, donations to Palliative Care, or to a memorial of one's choice, would be appreciated by the family.
