Thomas Joseph Russell

It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Russell announces his passing on June 10, 2026, at Percy’s Place at the age of 71.

Born in Chatham Head, he was the son of the late Melvina (Savoy) and Edward Russell. He worked at Repap Paper Mill until its closing, and then went on to work in the labour union. He loved being up in the woods and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and biking.

He will be greatly missed by his spouse Carmel Wenzel of Miramichi; sons, Devon Russell (Kaitlin Matchett) of Miramichi and Kylie Russell; stepson Dale Wenzel (Krista) of Miramichi; his sisters, Ellen Dickson (Roy) of Shediac, Celine Fraser (Wayne), Gail Russell, Darlene Russell, and Tracy Russell (Larry Mahoney) all of Miramichi; his brother, Melbourne Russell (Catherine) of Las Vegas; five grandchildren, Adam, Evan, Ellie, Claire, and Emmett; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Edward Russell Jr., and Ownie Russell.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of his life will be held at his residence (441 Sutton Road) on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 3 pm.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Percy's Place.
