Thomas Edward Burns

Thomas "Tommy" Edward Burns, of Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the age of 73.

Born in Miramichi, he was the son of the late Robert and Beatrice (Wood) Burns. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a jail guard. Tommy had a passion for sports and spent much of his time as a referee and umpire. 

Tommy is survived by his spouse Sherry Doran-Burns of Miramichi; sister Cathy Somers of Miramichi; brother John Burns of Miramichi; children Chris Burns (Carla), Tom Burns (Nicole), Andrew Burns (Riley) and Isaac Doran; as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Bobby Burns.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside burial will take place at St Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 2 PM.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a memorial of one's choice.
