Sylvia Anne (Aube) Allison of Miramichi passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Percy’s Place on August 24, 2026, at the age of 75. Born in Newcastle, she was the daughter of the late Oneisphore and Mary (Roy) Aube and the wife of the late Richard Allison.
Sylvia’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a cherished sister; one of 14 children raised in a home full of love. Sylvia was also one of the favourite aunts in the Aube clan, and she will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Married for 45 years, she and Ricky raised 3 children together, and nothing made them prouder than watching their children build families of their own. Sylvia created family traditions with her children and grandchildren that will continue for generations. Sylvia’s most cherished role was being a grandmother. She was always quick to pull out a brag book of photos when the grandkids were babies and loved to share their latest accomplishments with friends. She supported them at ball fields, gyms, rinks and even at the wrestling ring, always saying that her favorite thing was hearing them scream “GRAM” when they saw her.
Sylvia was a very outgoing and social person. Whether you knew her from bingo, playing cards or Pizza Delight, she always had a smile and loved to have a chat. She was a great friend and there are so many who will miss her sense of humor. She loved to entertain with a joke or a song and was often the life of the party. She brought joy to any gathering, and she will be dearly missed.
Sylvia is survived by her children: Lisa (Jim Watters), Kyle (Teena), and Lana (Josh Good) her grandchildren Ian, Shane, and Kaya Watters, Avery and Ryan Allison, and Kye Good. Her sisters: Paulette (Jim Jessop), Camilla (Jean-Paul Hachey), and Dale Hubbard (Larry); brothers John (Snooks) (Hazel), Rod (Lucille), Royce (Karen) and Danny (Tammy), sisters-in-law Sheree Allison and Brenda Bourque, brother- in-law Kelly Enright (Ruth), as well as many nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Buddy.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ricky, her sisters: Jacqueline, Ovilda, Rhéa, Carmen, and Théora; her brother Guy, brothers-in-law Frank Bender, Francis Hubbard and Charles Bourque; and sister-in-law Elsie Enright.
Sylvia and her family will forever be grateful for the care provided to her by the Miramichi Oncology team and Extra Mural staff during her illness. Dr. Praba and Dr. Losier were wonderful, and Dr. Swart was her personal angel. The staff at Percy’s Place provided an environment for the most beautiful end of life journey for her. The care was beyond our expectations and the staff were exceptional.
At Sylvia’s request, there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on September 5th at 11:00 am. There will be a gathering in the church basement following the Mass.
Also at Sylvia’s request, if you wish to honor her beautiful life, a donation to Percy’s Place would be appreciated. https://www.percysplace.ca/donation
In Sylvia’s memory, sing out loud, stop along the way to pick the wildflowers, “they make the best bouquets,” embrace family traditions and fill your life with love.
