Susan Theresa Nora Sherrard

September 25, 1950 — June 1, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Susan Theresa Nora Sherrard, wife of the late Byron Arlington Sherrard, announces her passing on June 1, 2026, at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home at the age of 75.

Born in Newcastle, NB, she was the daughter of the late Freeman and Mary (Walsh) McAllister.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Kim Sherrard (John Richards) and son, Arly Sherrard (Sheila), her grandchildren: Emmerson Richards, Cole Somers (Casey), Mikhael Richards (Alyssa Power), Karly Sherrard (Logan Dunfield), Kylan Sherrard (Tinika Doucet) and great-grandchildren: Nora, Tessa and Malia Somers, as well as a little one (Mike & Lyss) on the way.  She will be also missed by her sisters: Ann Guitard (late Gus), Janice Dutcher (Eddie), Cathy Somers (Terry), Loretta McAllister (Herb Kelly), Betty Henderson (late Randy), and Theresa McAllister, brother: Paul McAllister, and sisters-in-law Marlene Puddester (late Kevin) and Cathy Sherrard, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Parrish Sherrard and sisters: Mary Lawlor (late Ned), Diane Kazamer (late Mike), Freda Silliker (late Blaine), Fern Hare (late Sandy), Helen Gibbs (Brian) and brothers: Hubert McAllister (late Marie) and Art McAllister (Carol).

Susan found happiness in her home and showered her children with kindness, love and understanding. She was an incredible seamstress.          She found immense joy in card parties with family, and those around her enjoyed her competitive spirit.

Family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home for their professionalism and the exceptional care Mom received during her time in residency.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home Foundation or to a memorial of one’s choice.

In keeping with Susan’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to the interment at Saint Stephen’s United Church Cemetery, Red Bank, NB, on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 1 pm.
