  • Silas Burton Jardine, of Blackville, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 73.

    Born in Gray Rapids, he was the son of the late Archie and Clara (Kelly) Jardine. He worked as a fishing guide, and was also self-employed. He was a member of the Blackville ATV Club and volunteered at the food bank.

    He will be sadly missed by his girlfriend Grace Snook; two sons Allen (Charlene), Jerry (Jeanine) both of Ontario and their mother Violet; three sisters Hulda, Martha (Richard Underhill) and Bernice (Lewis McCarthy) all of Gray Rapids; four brothers Emery (Marilyn) of Blackville, Ralph (Gloria) of Gray Rapids, Cyril (Angela) of Gray Rapids, and Nelson of Gray Rapids; five grandchildren Jessie, Jason, Chelsea, Atticus, and Paige; as well as several nieces and nephews.

    Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sons Kenny and Archie, and one sister Lila.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from United Pentecostal Church, Blackville, on Monday, February 22, 2016, from 7 to 9 pm, and on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at 2 pm, from United Pentecostal Church in Blackville, with Pastor John Beach officiating.

    As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
