Mrs. Mary Shannon Johannah (Lyons) Mather, wife of the late Lawrence Mather, of Miramichi, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at her residence, at the age of 63.

Shannon was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Forrest) Lyons and worked as a teacher. She was a member of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church and a member of Miramichi Folk Choir.

She is survived by one daughter Amber (Tyler) of Ottawa; two sons John (Beverly) of Oromocto and Liam of Halifax; two sisters Susan Lyons and Kathy Black both of Miramichi; and one grandson Lochlan.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Monday, June 28, 2010, from 7 to 9 and on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at 10 am, from St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Tom Fowler officiating.

As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to a memorial of one's choice.
