Sara Elizabeth Matchett

Sara Elizabeth Matchett, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at her mother’s home on June 8, 2025, at the age of 41.

Born in Sunny Corner, she was the daughter of Carol Mae Matchett (Estey) of Miramichi, and the late Tony Matchett, also of Miramichi.

Alongside her mother, Sara is survived by her daughters, Myrie Matchett, Maybree Matchett, and Myka Matchett-Morris; and sister, Sonya Hamilton, all of Miramichi.

Besides her father, Sara was predeceased by her aunt, Cynthia Tozer; grandparents, Blair and Dorothy Matchett, Francis Estey and Edith Ashton (Mullin); and great-grandparents.

The family wishes to extend thanks to the paramedics, Miramichi Police Force, Coroner Decock, and Northumberland Funeral Home for the kindness and compassion you showed us during this difficult time. We also wish to thank Dr. Kpogo and the staff at Horizon for your continued patience and dedication over the past few months.

At the request of the family, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Addiction & Mental Health Services or a memorial of one’s choice.
