Robert Lee Holmes, of Sillikers, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at the Miramichi Regional Hospita,l at the age of 80.

Born in Halcomb, he was the son of the late Howard and Annie (Stewart) Holmes.

Robert worked for 25 years as a miner before becoming a woods worker.

He is survived by his wife Abigail (Dunnett); two daughters Leanne (Aloysius) Mullin of Trout Brook, June (Lloyd) Carter of Cassilis; one son Robert of Halcomb; three sisters Norma Dunnett of Sillikers,Rolla (James) Sutherland of Cassilis,and Sharon Dunnett of Fredericton; grandchildren Kyle Mullin (Lin Lin Wu) of Beijing China and Morgan Mullin and Oliver Crook of Halifax.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister Frances and three brothers Gordon,Douglas and Richard.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, December 12, 2016, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Boom Road Pentecostal church.The funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, Deember 13, 2016, at 2 p.m. from the church with Pastor Harold Luff officiating.

Burial will take place in the Boom Road Presbyterian cemetery later in the spring.
