Robert William Dawson

It is with profound sadness the family of the late Robert W. Dawson, husband of Donalda C. (Stewart) Dawson of Losier Hall, and formerly of Strathadam NB, announce his passing on August 24th 2024, at the age of 86. 

Born on August 02, 1938 in Miramichi NB, Robert was the eldest child of the late Howard and Inez (Scott) Dawson of Semiwagon Ridge, and raised by his maternal grand parents, the late Fred and Alexia (Hare) Scott of Strathadam.

Robert was a hard working man, beginning at an early age, after leaving school upon completion of grade 6. He began working at various local sawmill's and construction sites. Then he and his grandfather, began butchering and selling meat and fish on the road, eventually running the business alone for many years, until he decided to closed his business and enter a local grocery store as meat cutter. After the grocery store had permanently closed, he began a 20+ year working career with Lounsbury Co. Ltd. in Newcastle, as a delivery man, until his health forced him to permanently retire.

He loved the outdoors. Camping, snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing, gave him great joy.

Robert leaves behind his wife of 66 years Donalda; his son Kevin (Selly); grandchildren William (Tammy), Kenneth (Lisa), Katie (Curren); great grandchildren Kaleb, Alicha, Fisher, Branch, Bailey; great great grand children Kality, Ashlynn; brothers Dale and Brian; and several neices, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his grandparents and parents, he was predeceased by sister Marilyn Richardson, and brothers Gary and Jimmy Dawson.

At Robert's request, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at a later date. 

The family would like to thank the Doctor's, Nurses, and staff of Miramichi Regional Hospital, the Extramural Nurses for the great services and care they provided, and the staff of Losier Hall for the wonderful care and help they provided during Robert's brief stay.
