Richard Mather

Richard "Dickie" Mather, of Miramichi, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the age of 69.

Born in Newcastle, he was the son of the late Woodrow and Dorothy "Sally" (Craik) Mather. Dickie was employed with Sobeys for almost 50 years. 

He will be greatly missed by his children, Ricky Mather (Pam) of Miramichi and Lyndsay Mather of Victoria, BC, and their mother Christine Villeneuve of Miramichi; his sister, Karen Holton of Moncton; his brother, Strang Mather (Fema) of Miramichi; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Lawrence Mather.

Visitation will take place at Northumberland Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A private interment will take place in Miramichi Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a memorial of one's choice.
