Richard Joseph Donovan

Richard Joseph Donovan, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Monday, January 15, 2024, at the age of 64.

Born in Miramichi, he was the son of Florence (Connors) Donovan and the late Merlin Donovan. He worked as a steamfitter for 35 years and was a member of UA Local 325.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Olivera (Ryan) Donovan; stepdaughter Jillian Waye (Colby) of Trout Brook; stepson Aaron Sullivan (Shaylee) of Black River Bridge; mother Florence Donovan of Miramichi; four sisters Virginia (Dale MacMillan) of Miramichi, Colleen Donovan of Miramichi, Pamela Murphy (Bill) of Saint John, and Stephanie Donovan of Miramichi; two brothers Raymond Donovan of Renous and Edward Donovan (Cheryl Buggie) of South Esk; three grandchildren Emerson, Elliott, and Ainsley; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at Northumberland Funeral Home, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 6 to 9 pm, and on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 1 pm until 2:45 pm. The funeral service will follow at 3 pm, with Pastor Matthew Porter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North and South Esk Elementary Activity Program, or to a memorial of one's choice.
