Reginald Falconer

Mar 28, 1949 — Jun 22, 2026

Reginald Ira Falconer, of Miramichi, passed away surrounded by his family at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the age of 77.

Born in Miramichi, he was the son of the late Dorothy (Brehaut) and William Falconer. Throughout his life, Reggie was known for his dedication to his family, faith, community, and work. As a hardworking self-employed entrepreneur, he spent his years managing the farm, meat shop, multiple rental properties, and a woodlot, while also working as a miner for 36 years. Reggie proudly volunteered as a firefighter for more than 25 years, served as a Miramichi City Councillor for over 10 years, and was Captain of the Heath Steele Mine rescue team. In recognition of his courage and selflessness during the Westray Mine disaster in Nova Scotia, he was awarded the Medal of Bravery.

True to his humble nature, Reggie never sought recognition for his actions. He was a man of strength and unwavering principles who stood up for what he believed in. Through his hard work, honesty, integrity, and generosity, he touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on his community. Above all, Reg was devoted to his family and took great pride in the lives and accomplishments of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Joyce (Kenny) Falconer of Miramichi; his children, Lisa Hare (Rocky) of Whitney, Wayne Falconer of Miramichi, Heather Flaherty (Greg) of Lower Newcastle, and Melissa Dumont (Pierre) of Calgary, AB; three brothers, Lloyd (Diane) of Moncton, Jimmy (Ann) of Manitoba, and Billy (Carol) of Ontario; sister, Donna Caul (James) of Moncton; 10 grandchildren, Kyle, Allison, Kacey, William, Alexis, Madelyn, Mitchell, Kaitlynn, Ashton, and Aynsley; five great grandchildren, Jett, Tate, Bowen, Calla, and Kent; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Ethel Mullin and Jacqueline Price; and his brothers, Wilmot, Raymond, and Kenny.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of Reggie's life will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Point Church at 2 pm, with Pastor Geoff McLean officiating. A private family burial will take place at the Miramichi Cemetery.
