Raymond Michael English Sr.

Born in Nowlanville, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Burns) English. he worked for C.N. Railroad for 38 years before his retirement and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8381 and the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church where he also volunteered much of his time. He was also a member of the Golden Age Club Chatham Head Seniors, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels and driving the van for the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home.
Raymond will be sadly missed by his wife Carmel (Gill) of Miramichi; three daughters Mary of Gatineau, Quebec, Margot (Bradley Mullin) of Sussex, and Carolyn (Gary Gibbs) of Riverview; two sons Raymond Jr. (Alyson) of Miramichi, and George of Toronto,Ontario; seven grandchildren Alex Mullin, Madison Mullin, Gregory Gibbs, Emily Gibbs, Laura Gibbs, "Poppy's Boy" Evan English, and Maria English; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers William (Anna) and Edward, and his granddaughter Danielle Rae English.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Monday, April 28, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at 11 am, with Father Stanislas Paulin officiating.
As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home, IWK, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Restoration Fund, or to a memorial of one's choice.
