  • Perley McEvoy, of Renous, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 75.

    Born in Renous, he was the son of the late Simon and Lillian (Hallihan) McEvoy. He worked as a diamond driller and was a member of Saint Bridget's Roman Catholic Church. Perley was also an avid crib and bingo player.

    He will be greatly missed by his two sons Derrick (Dorothy) of Barnettville and Danny (Tracey) of Renous; three sisters Marion Dole of Petitcodiac, Beatrice Steeves (Douglas) of Hillsborough, and Jean Bell (Perley) of Renous; two brothers Gerard of Renous and Wayne (Thea) of Whitney; special friend Laverne Fournier of White Rapids; three granddaughters Abigail, Lillian, and Shalene; great grandson Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his niece Joy Brown and nephew Chris McMahon.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from Father Murdock Memorial Room, Renous, on Friday, September 1, 2017, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at 10 am, from Saint Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Donovan officiating.

    As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St Bridget's Memorial Fund, or to St Bridget's Cemetery Fund.
