  • Paul Joseph Richard, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the age of 88.

    Born in Newcastle, he was the son of the late Alcide and Alexandria (Roy) Richard. He owned his own transports and was a member of Paroisse de L'Ascension Roman Catholic Church, Beaverbrook.

    He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Jeannette (L'Huillier) Richard of Miramichi; daughter Jacqueline (Michael Silliker) of Miramichi; son Robert Richard (Tammy) of Miramichi; step brother Edward Mallet (Ella); grandchildren Aimee MacLean (Brad), Trenton Silliker (Kaitlin), and Jared Richard (Brittany); seven great grandchildren Axten, Avriana, Treyton, Tinley, Bryson, Aalya, and Colton; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his twin brother Charles; brothers Leonard, Camille, and Reginald; and his sister Annette. 

    The family will receive relatives and friends at Northumberland Funeral Home, on Monday, January 3, 2022, from 11 am until 12:45 pm. A private funeral service will take place following the visitation at 1 pm, with Father Beaumaster officiating.

    Please note: masks are mandatory and proof of double vaccination and government ID are required to attend both the visitation and funeral service. 

    As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Extra Mural Program.
