Norma Dunnett

With sadness, the family of Norma (Normie) Evelyn Dunnett, age 92, of Losier Hall, Miramichi, NB, formerly of Sillikers, NB, announce her death on Thursday, April 11th, 2024 at Losier Hall, surrounded by family. 

Born November 5th, 1931, she was the eldest child of Howard and Annie (Stewart) Holmes.

Norma was a member of Lyttleton Pentecostal Church and then Boom Road Pentecostal Church. Her Christian life and attending church were important to her. She was a member of the Women’s Missionary Council and Women’s Ministry and also a Sunday School teacher in early years.

Her passions in life were her children and grandchildren but she also found time to cook, bake, sew, knit, quilt, garden and split her fire wood. She was known for her cinnamon buns, squares and cakes as well as her many quilts she gifted to family.

Norma is survived by her sons, Douglas (Karen) of Bathurst, NB; Rev. Daniel (Rev. Cynthia) of Barrington, NS; Dwight (Karen) of Doaktown, NB; grandchildren Benjamin (Leslie), Tyson (Annalise), Travis (April), Jonathan (Tatiana) and Amanda (Matthew); three great-grandchildren; sisters, Rolla (James, deceased) and Sharon (Jerry, deceased); nieces and nephews.

Norma was predeceased in 1987 by her husband of 33 years, Jarvis. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Gordon, Lee, Doug and Richard (Dick) and sister Frances.

A visitation for Norma will take place in the chapel of Northumberland Funeral Home, Miramichi, on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 from 12 to 2 pm followed by the celebration of life at 2 p.m officiated by Rev. Cynthia Dunnett. Burial to take place at a later date in Boom Road Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
