Born in Tabusintac, she was the daughter of the late James W and Ella Mae (Hornibrook) Johnston. She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church, Order of the Eastern Star, a former member of the U. C. W. and she was the first president of the Tabusintac Senior Citizen’s.

She is survived by one sister Elva Avery (late Leonard) of Moncton; brothers Earl Johnston (Late Geraldine Beattie) of Tabusintac
Arthur (late Vicki Badducke) of Lower Coverdale, N.B., James (Sandi) of B.C.; sister-in-law Dorothy (Smythe) Johnston; brothers-in-law Alfred Blake and Graydon Marshall and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband Harold, Janet was predeceased by two brothers Harry and Winson; four sisters Emma MacKenzie (Ross), Violet (Cooper Knowles) Jackson, Agnes (Basil Ross) Marshall and Reta (Buddy MacDonald) Blake.
