Morris Curtis, of Gray Rapids, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home, at the age of 77.
Born in Gray Rapids, he was the son of the late Albert and Rachel Curtis. In his early years, he worked in the woods and then became a fishing guide. He had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Morris was also known for his love of music and playing the mouth organ.
He will be greatly missed by his loving daughter April Curtis (Neil Coughlan) of Gray Rapids; three sisters Lilah (Late Allison) of Gray Rapids, Betty Anne (Walter) of Cassilis, and Juanita (Late Derrick Mathers) of Gray Rapids; three brothers Angus (Willa) of Gray Rapids, Eddy (Jackie) of Blackville, and Delton (Lori) of Gray Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Lorraine (Stewart) Curtis, son Sterling Stewart, and brother Marcus Curtis.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Gray Rapids United Pentecostal Church, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 2 pm, from Gray Rapids United Pentecostal Church, with Rev. Graham Russell officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
