Mona Ida Jimmo

Mona Jimmo passed away peacefully at Percy’s Place, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born in Miramichi, NB, she was the daughter of the late Preston and Anne (O’Leary) Jimmo. Prior to retirement, she worked as a secretary and in real estate.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Kimberly Verronneau (Emile Turcotte) of Alexandria, ON and Robert Verronneau (Andrea Barile) of Montreal, QC; her sister, Dorothea Bedard (Andy) of Montreal, QC; her brother, John Jimmo (Yolande) of Saint John, NB; her cousin Ann Dickison (Dodie) of Newcastle, NB; her grandchildren, Steven, and Branden; her niece and goddaughter, Lisa Bedard (Danny) and her nephew, Jason Bedard (Tina); as well as many great nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Besides her parents, Mona was predeceased by her sister Stella, her husband, Harold Hanson, and her life partner, Owen Murdoch.

Mona was a fun-loving bundle of joy with a beaming zest for life. She was always on the go and ready to help anyone who needed a hand. She loved to socialize, play music and help people. She was very giving, kind and thoughtful and never missed a chance to talk about her beloved Miramichi to whoever she met.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will take place at Northumberland Funeral Home on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 12 pm to 1:45 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm with Father Anthony Dass Papu officiating. Interment will take place in All Saints Roman Catholic Cemetery, in Millbank, NB.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to Percy’s Place would be greatly appreciated by the family.
