Michael Ernest Watling, of Chelmsford, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 57.

Born in Chatham, he was the son of the late Cedric and Mary Amelia (Riley) Watling. He worked as a Service Manager and was a member of River of Life Assembly. He was actively involved with Miramichi Ground Search and Rescue and Miramichi Drag Race. he coached and played softball and was a member of the St James and St John Drama Group.

Michael will be sadly missed by his wife Susan (Allison) Watling of Chelmsford; two daughters Natasha Watling of Calgary, AB and Michelle Watling, of Chelmsford; stepdaughter Chasity (Roger Bjurstrom) of Lower Newcastle; sister Angela Jocksch (Joe) of Oliver, BC; three brothers Willard (Laura) of Miramichi, David (Shelley) of Miramichi, and Phillip of Calgary, AB; mother-in-law Helene Waye; granddaughter Amelia Mary; three step grandchildren Aiden, Colton, and Trenton; and nine nieces and nephews Tammy Lynn, Melanie, Christopher, Kyla Ann, Jessica, Sean, Kim, Randy, and Glenn David.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 7 to 9 pm and on Wednesday, June 4, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. the funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 11 am, from St James and St John United Church, with Rev. Willard Watling officiating.

As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Cancer Society, Diabetes Association, or to a memorial of one's choice.
