Michael Paul Sobey

Michael Paul Sobey, of Maple Glen, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 66.

Born in Newcastle, he was the son of the late Carolyn (Gray) and Budd Sobey. He was employed with North Shore Construction.

He will be greatly missed by his sons, Dustin Baisley of Moncton and Cody Sobey of Maple Glen; three sisters, Susan Stewart (Reg), Pam Waye and Faye Waye; brother, Perry Sobey; grandchildren Ethan Baisley, Jake Baisley, and Mia Sobey; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Annie Baisley; brothers-in-law Glendale Waye and Donald Waye; and niece Tobi Dawn Waye.

Visitation will be held at Northumberland Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 11 am, with Rev. Alice Szemok officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Maple Glen Cemetery Fund, or to a memorial of one's choice.
