Michael Larocque passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on November 18th 2025, at the age of 70.
Born in Newcastle, NB, on November 12th 1955, he was the son of the late John and Ida Larocque of Chatham Head.
Mike worked in different fields over the years, but his passion was cooking. He was a retired chef.
Anyone who knew Mike and tasted his cooking knows how delicious it was. He was kind and generous. Almost every day, he would cook a big batch of something yummy, such as chili, chicken stew and dumplings, maybe fish cakes or beef barley soup. Then he would do up containers and bring it to his neighbours, friends and family. We will all miss his amazing Christmas meat pies.
In his younger years, Mike loved to fish and was always up for a game of crib.
Mike is survived by his son Matthew; his stepson Chris; his sisters Kate and Mary; and his grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Tiana, Cruz, Killian, Colby and Kyle.
He is also survived by his brothers Gilbert, Joe, John and Charlie; his sisters Lucy, Annette, Adele; and his very special friend Margaret.
Mike was predeceased by his brothers, Nick and Paul, and his sister Emma.
During his illness, Mike really appreciated all the help and kindness that he received from his caregiver, Joanne and the Extra Mural staff who came to his home.
