Mary Senura (Traboulsee) Rogers, of Miramichi, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 99.
Born in Newcastle, she was the daughter of the late Kaleel and Adele (Farrah) Traboulsee. She worked in office administration prior to her retirement.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Karen Matchett (late Larry Matchett) of Sillikers, and David Ryan of Abbotsford, BC; five grandchildren, Lacey (Jeremy) Watling, Laura (Michael) Wheaton, Nayden Ryan, Ben Ryan, and Nick Ryan; three great-grandchildren, Chloe Watling, Jaxon Watling, and Melody Wheaton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert (Bob) Rogers; her sisters, Anne Mallory and Cecilia "Dee" Bornhym; and her brothers, Louis Traboulsee and David "Junior" Traboulsee.
Mary had a genuine zest for life, adventure, travel, music, and exploration. She had a wonderfully positive outlook and a warm smile that made friends wherever she went. She was always ready for an adventure—or, as Mary liked to call it, a “serendipity trip.”
A talented and creative woman, Mary loved to paint, sew, and play music. She played piano by ear and loved singing. She was also a skilled seamstress who continued sewing until the age of 99.
As a single mother, Mary lovingly raised two successful children, who were a great source of pride in her life.
Mary’s joyful spirit, kind heart, creativity, and unwaveringly positive attitude made her truly special. She embraced life with curiosity, laughter, and enthusiasm— even in all of the challenges she faced— she remained resilient through it all.
Mary had a generous heart and a deep love for her community. She volunteered her time and encouraged and inspired others. She was a true socialite who enjoyed good company, good food, and, of course, dessert—preferably first!
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, friendship, music, creativity, and countless happy memories. Mary will be deeply missed and always remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at The River Church in Sillikers, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., with Rev. Dr. Les Somers officiating.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to River Church Children’s Ministry or to a memorial of one's choice.
