Marie (Murray) MacDonald passed quietly from this life to her eternal rest on Thursday morning, June 12, 2025, at 5:30 am.
Born in New Jersey, NB, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Clara (Stymiest) Murray.
Marie was an active member of Zion Presbyterian Church in New Jersey, and a former member of St David's United Church in Burnt Church. She was a life member of the New Jersey U.C.W. and a member of Zion Ladies Aid in New Jersey. She was a person of strong faith.
A lifelong resident of New Jersey, she was also active in the New Jersey Community Group and the Burnt Church and New Jersey Senior Citizens Group.
She loved the homestead on the Mill Road where she chased cows, milked cows, grew her garden, and planted her flowers. She loved to watch the birds as they came to her feeder each day. She loved to cook and was good at it; pies, squares, and cookies, all had her own special touch. She loved the simple things- a bright morning sunrise, a hot cup of tea, a warm fire in the kitchen stove, a neighbour's visit in the evening. She loved life, she loved family, and she certainly will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Marie is survived by her son Stanley MacDonald of New Jersey; two sisters Elizabeth "Betty" Reade (Late Douglas) of Moncton, and Phyllis Davidson (George) of Burnt Church; her brother John Murray of Moncton; two sisters-in-law Joyce McKnight of Miramichi and Iris MacDonald of Burnt Church; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Perley MacDonald; infant son Jason; sisters Ruth Duff, Mildred Savoy, and Thelma Hayward; and brother Kenneth Murray.
The family will receive relatives and friends at their home, 20 Mill Road, New Jersey, on Friday, June 13, 2025, after 6 pm, and on Saturday, June 14, 2025, all day and evening. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 3 pm, from Zion Presbyterian Church, in New Jersey, with Rev. Phillip Penny officiating and assisted by Rev. Darel Tozer. Interment will take place in Burnt Church Union Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Zion Presbyterian Church, Burnt Church Union Cemetery, or to the Extra Mural Program.
