It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lynn (MacDougall) Underhill of Miramichi. Lynn passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the age of 74, after a courageous and fiercely fought battle with cancer.
She had an extraordinary strength, remarkable courage and limitless love, a truly beautiful soul who gave her heart entirely to those around her. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late John and Anne (McNeil) MacDougall. She worked as a bookkeeper and was a member of Saint Samuel's Roman Catholic Church.
For 52 wonderful years, she shared a deep, unwavering love with her devoted husband Herb. Together they built a life centered around family, adventure, and connection. Her children, Denale, Derek and her cherished granddaughter Emma were her absolute world. Everything she did was driven by her devotion to her family, and nothing brought her greater joy than seeing them thrive.
Lynn had a passion for life's simple pleasures and good times. She loved her oldies, tapping her feet to bluegrass, and hitting the road with Herb to travel to classic car shows and country festivals. She was happiest outdoors, camping under the stars surrounded by cherished friends, laughing, and making memories. She is known for her warm hospitality; Lynn possessed a rare kind of kindness. She worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone who stepped through her door felt welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. To know her was to be embraced by a genuine, kind-hearted soul who put others first.
The family would like to thank the Oncology staff at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, and the staff on 4 West and on 4 East, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, for their exceptional care and compassion.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, John "Decon", Frank, Ricky, and Jimmy. She will be greatly missed by her husband Herb, daughter Denale, son Derek, granddaughter Emma and brothers Blair, Bruce (Debbie), and sister Sharon.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation at Northumberland Funeral Home on Monday, July 27, 2027, from 3 pm to 8 pm.
