Born on September 29, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Elise Martin. Louise’s passions were her family, travelling, cards and bingo. She raised eight children along with her late husband, Billy. She was also a foster parent for over 20 years, giving a loving home to over 200 children in need.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth, Lillian (Charlie), Helena (Richard) and Karen (Michael), and sons, Lawrence (Judy), Roy (Paulette) and Adam.
“Granny” will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Eric (Melissa), Bradley (Daniel), Heather (Shane), Marcus, Sarah (Ryan), Lillie (Rylie), Randy, Aubree, and Erin; and great-grandchildren, Luke, Gwen, Charlotte and Chloe.
She is survived by brothers and sisters, Carmel McIntyre (Bill), Ludger Martin, Edna Lirette, Donat Martin (Jacqueline), Simon Martin (Theresa), Zoel Martin (Rejeanne), Wilbert Martin, and Vernon Martin (Edwina) all of Baie-Sainte-Anne; sister-in-law Cora Martin of Baie Sainte-Anne; and many nieces, nephews, and her cousin Richard Bransfield.
She is predeceased by her husband, Billy Bransfield; her son, John Bransfield; her brother, Sylvio Martin; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael Bransfield (Mary), Helen Green (Frank), Tommy Bransfield (Wanda), Steven Bransfield (Ella May), and Abel Lirette.
The family received relatives and friends at Northumberland Funeral Home in Miramichi on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 2 pm to 4 pm & 6 pm to 8 pm. The funeral service was held at St. Michael's by the Sea, Bayside, on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 11 AM, celebrated by Father Daniel Bastarache. The eulogy was given by Karen Bransfield, followed by a greeting & opening prayer. Readings were done by Margaret Burke (A reading from the book of Sirach) and Jean Stevens (A Reading from the letter of Paul to the Thessalonians). Hymns were "There You’ll Be", "Jealous of the Angels", "Songs of the Angels", and "When God Made You My Mother".
