It is with deep sadness and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Lorraine Arlyn Theresa Tucker. Lorraine passed away surrounded by her family at Percy’s Place on August 6, 2026, at the age of 71.
Born in Newcastle on July 29, 1955, she was the daughter of Clayton and the late Madeline (Furlong) Tucker of Renous. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, including her son Kyle and her siblings Carolyn, Karen, Patricia, Debbie, Keith, Diane, Clara, Jacqueline, Tony, Perry and Tasha. Lorraine was predeceased by her brothers Kevin, Patrick and Sheldon.
Lorraine lived a life defined by compassion, resilience, and genuine care for others. Throughout her life, she worked in a variety of roles, including as a Registered Nursing Assistant, where her natural ability to comfort and support those in her care left a lasting impression. Whatever the task, Lorraine approached it with dedication, warmth, and a strong sense of purpose.
A devoted and loving single-parent mother, Lorraine's greatest joy was her son, whom she loved beyond measure. Their bond was built on unconditional love, laughter, and unwavering support, and he remained at the center of her heart throughout her life.
Born into a large and close-knit family, Lorraine cherished the relationships she shared with her loved ones. She had a remarkable gift for bringing people together and surrounded herself with kind, interesting, and genuine people. Her home was always welcoming, and her door and heart were forever open to those in need of friendship, comfort, or conversation.
Lorraine will be remembered for her quick wit, playful spirit, and wonderful sense of humor. She had a unique ability to lighten any room with laughter, while also being honest, strong-minded, and unafraid to express her opinion.
Life brought its share of challenges, but Lorraine faced them with courage, determination, and perseverance. Through every hardship, she remained someone others could rely on, always ready to listen and help those around her.
Lorraine was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of sharing in her life. Her legacy lives on in the kindness she extended, the strength she demonstrated, and the love she gave so freely to others.
Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects at her funeral service, which will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 2 pm, at St. Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church in Renous.
