  • Lorenda Mavis Furlong(Connors) of Doaktown, wife of Richard James Furlong passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 63.

    She was the daughter of Phyllis Connors (Peterson) and the late Alonzo Connors.

    Lorenda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves many memories to be cherished by her family and friends. She loved travelling and enjoyed time at the cottage and especially at Grand Lake. She had a special love for birds and enjoyed watching them along with spending time in her garden.

    Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her daughter Tanya of Doaktown, son Bradley (Julie) of Chipman, three sisters; Joy (Louis) Furlong of Doaktown, Sharon (Terry) Turriff of Riverview,Twila (Troy) Donahue of Blackville, two brothers; Eugene (Linda) of Upper Blackville and Troy (Stacey) of Doyles Brook.

    Lorenda was very proud of her family and adored her two grandchildren Alexa (Bradley) and Tyson. She loved her two special fur babies Abbie and Bella.

    The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday evening from 6-9 at the New Life Pentecostal church in Blackville.

    The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the church with Rev. John Beach officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic cemetery in Howards, NB.
