  • It is with sadness the family of Lois Mildred Vickers announce her passing on October 2, 2021, at the age of 87.

Lois was born in Barnettville, NB to Alice (Underhill) and George Vickers on September 15, 1934. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Lois was an employee for the Federal Government for 33 years and retired in January 1990. She was a woman of strong faith and attended Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Blackville. She was a choir member and was also a part of various committees.

Lois had a kind, generous, and giving heart. Upon her retirement, she devoted her life to attending to her mother’s needs until her mother passed away. She was always such a caring, loving, and trustworthy niece to her special aunts Alexis Hambrook and Lola Sobey. You could always find them sitting on the front porch at Lois’ house, she truly missed these lovely ladies when they passed.

Lois was so very proud of all her nieces and nephews. She was always interested in what they were doing and what their children were up to. She always loved to see them come to visit and share a meal with her. She was a wonderful cook and housekeeper, when you hear the phrase “you could eat off the floor” Lois Vickers holds that title unanimously.

She will be truly missed by her nieces Carol Mullin, Kathy Hallihan, Janice O’Shea, Joy Harper, and Daphne Vickers; nephews George Mountain, Ronnie and Calvin Vickers, Darwin and Greg Vickers, and Christian Connors; and numerous cousins.

Lois was predeceased by her parents; her sister Bernice Mountain; and brothers Cameron, Sterling and Boyd Vickers.

Special heartwarming thank you to Marina Coughlan and Jeanette Vickers for being such kind and wonderful neighbors to Lois. She so enjoyed their friendship and company.

There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, in Blackvillle, NB, on October 6, 2021.

Due to Covid restrictions, masks, hand sanitizing, and social distancing is a must. Vaccination proof upon arrival is mandatory.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of one’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral home, 102 Pleasant St, telephone (506) 622-7741
