Leon Hachey, from Tabusintac, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on April 8, 2026, at the age of 70.
Born in Nelson, he was the son of the late Catherine (Benoit) and Amedie Hachey. Leon worked for UPM - Kymmene formally known as Repap at the Ground wood mill in Nelson from 1973 until it’s closing in 2007. For those who knew him, they would say he was a true gentleman, wearing a smile through his days, always willing to help anyone or share a kind word.
He will be greatly missed by his soul mate, Lori; his children, Daniel LeBlanc (Katherine) and Denise LeBlanc (Robert) of Moncton, NB; his pride and joys, his grandchildren, Alan, Logan, Mason, Zoe and Lincoln; and his brothers, Ernest and Steven, both of Miramichi.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by brothers Allen, Leo, Charles, Larry, Francis, David, Kenny, and sisters, Leah, Doris, and Irene, along with numerous brother and sister-in-laws.
A short gathering will be held at Northumberland Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 1 pm to 3 pm, with sharing of prayers. Leon will be put to rest with his parents and siblings at St Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Our family would like to thank all of his doctors and nurses, including the Miramichi Dialysis Unit and Extra Mural.
As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, please do a kind gesture, or act of kindness for someone in Leon's memory.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home & Crematorium, 102 Pleasant St., telephone (506) 622-7741.
