  • Leo James White, husband of Linda (Matchett) White, of Millerton, passed away at his residence, on Friday, November 20, 2015, at the age of 72.

    Born in Blackville, he was the son of the late Cecil and Mary (Colford) White. Leo had a passion for fishing in the Miramichi River and was a member of St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church. He was retired for 17 years after a 34 year career with NBTel.

    He will be sadly missed by his wife Linda; two sisters Cecilia Brophy of Blackville, and Phyllis Ann Hill (Bernie) of Leduc, AB; special niece Sally Brophy (Rick) of Blackville; mother-in-law and father-in-law Noreen and John Flett of Upper Derby; sister-in-law Carolyn Dawson (Sean) of Riverview; two brother-in-laws Roger Flett of Riverview and Glenn Matchett (Betty-Lou) of Bathurst; and several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Sunday, November 22, 2015, from 7 to 9 pm, and on Monday, November 23, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at 11 am, from St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, Renous, with Monseigneur Joseph Woods officiating.

    As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Extra Mural, or to a memorial of one's choice.
