Katherine Agnes Knowles

Katherine Agnes Knowles, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at Percy’s Place on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the age of 73.

Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Janie (McFarlane) Knowles.

Kathy graduated from the ward clerk program at Carleton County Vocational School in Woodstock, NB, in 1973. Upon graduation, she began work at the Hotel Dieu Hospital on the 2R Medical unit. In 1996, when the new Miramichi Regional Hospital opened, Kathy moved to the 1 East restorative care and rehabilitation unit where she remained until her retirement. Kathy will be remembered for her kind smile, patience and many acts of kindness throughout the years.

She will be greatly missed by her son, Kyle Knowles of Miramichi; sisters, Sandra Henderson (John) of Sunny Corner, Debbie Knowles of Miramichi, and Betty J. Hebert (Roger) of Noinville; brothers, Donald Knowles and Roy Knowles, both of Miramichi; grandchildren, Ethan and Hazen; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Linda Knowles; and her brothers, Kevin Knowles and Harold Knowles.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place at St Michael’s R.C. Cemetery at a later date.
