Josephine Carlyn MacAllister passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, at the Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the age of 79.
Born on June 6, 1946, in Warwick Settlement, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Effie (Tozer) Travis.
Josephine is survived by her husband, Lloyd Clarence MacAllister, her children Debbie (David) Stewart, Valerie (George) Sherrard and Calvin (Alison) MacAllister, her grandchildren Joshua, Lucas, Kristie, Kayla, Kyle and Carly as well as her great-grandchildren Rachel, Ethan, Jillian, Liam, Rori, Gradi and Isaac.
In addition to her parents, Josephine was predeceased by her first husband, Ronald Robichaud, son-in-law Timothy (Nimmer) Stewart, great-grandson, Samuel Sherrard, brothers, Lesley, Benson, Edgeley, infant twins Ernie and Eddie, and sister Beatrice Nowlan.
Mom shared her love of the Lord, serving as a Sunday school teacher. She was an AMS Member and will be remembered as a woman of strong faith. One of her greatest joys was to be surrounded by her family.
In her early years, she worked as a Canada Post mail courier for 38 years.
Heartfelt thanks are extended to the nurses, staff and Dr. Gerard Losier of 4 East at Miramichi Regional Hospital and the compassion, care and stellar professionalism of the 4th Floor nurses and staff of Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home.
Family will welcome relatives and friends on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 4 pm - 8 pm at Northumberland Funeral Home & Crematorium.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 2 pm at Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Ettinger officiating. Interment will take place in Boom Road Presbyterian Cemetery at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made to Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home would be greatly appreciated by the family.
