  • Josephine Agnes (Curtis) Daley, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at the age of 88.

    Born in Curventon, she was the daughter of the late William Simon and Sarah Elizabeth (Astle) Curtis. She was a homemaker and a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, in Barnaby.

    She will be greatly missed by her husband Edward Daley; five daughters Deborah Jardine of Chilliwack, BC, Beth Keenan (Richard Tucker) of Renous, Janice Hare (Glenn Edwards) of Moncton, Daphne Porter (Gerry Porter) of Sunny Corner, and Brenda Blackmore (Greg Blackmore) of Miramichi; four sons Blake Jardine (Elaine Hoyt) of Sunny Corner, Randy Jardine (Mary Genevieve) of Sunny Corner, Byron Nowlan (Jeannie) of Sunny Corner, and Burton Nowlan (Alecia Blondeau) of Grand Prairie, AB; four sisters Ann Brown of Miramichi, Peggy Thibodeau of Sussex, Rosalie Dunnett of Miramichi, and Theresa Doucette of Alberta; two brothers Andrew Curtis and David Curtis both of Miramichi; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

    Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three sisters Francis, Elizabeth, and Agnes; seven brothers Hugh, Gerald, Myles, Frankie, Edward, Leo and Vincent; and her grandson Brody Nowlan.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 11 am, from Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, in Barnaby, with Father Anthony Dass Papu officiating.

    The family would like to thank Dr. Hickey, Dr. Arsenault and Jean Coutu for the excellent care they provided. A special thanks to Extra-mural for the kindness and compassion they showed.

    As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
