It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Joseph William (Billy) Hachey on March 16th, 2026. He will be greatly missed.
He leaves behind his wife (life partner) Rose Martin of Chatham Head and his children Bobbi Jo of Alberta and Billy Jo (Cindy) of Ontario; sisters, Shirley (J.D. Whyte) of Moncton, Carmel of Ontario, Jeannette (Bud) of Ontario, Alfreda of Ontario, June of Miramichi, Patsy of Saint Andrew's, and Linda (John) of Ontario; brothers, David of Miramichi, Roy of Ontario, and Donald (Mona) of Miramichi; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Alexander and Ovilda (Emoff) Hachey; his daughter, Patty Jo (Patricia); his sister, Mary; and his brother, Norman.
Billy was born in Miramichi and was raised in Chatham Head, NB, but made his way to Ontario, where he began a family and lived for many years. He was a long-time employee at NC Cameron, where he was a jack of all trades in the warehouse. After retirement, his heart pulled him back home, where he settled with family and great friends. He loved fishing at the wharf, going to the camp with the boys, hunting, and, of course, playing cards at the Rec Hall in Chatham Head.
Billy will always be remembered for his big heart and love for everyone, always willing to lend an ear or give advice if asked. He loved everyone equally, whether you were blood, his chosen family or friends.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to Laura and Holly from Extra Mural and all the staff at Percy's Place. Your compassion and care were above and beyond.
May you fly high in the sky and look over us all.
