Joan Anderson, wife of the late Bill Anderson, of Miramichi, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 89.

Born in Newcastle, she was the daughter of the late George Allen and Almira Eliza (Copp) Alexander.

She will be greatly missed by her two sons Bruce (Debbie) of Miramichi and Doug (Tanya) of Fredericton; three sisters Margaret Bowness of Moncton, Janet Dunphy of Moncton, and Beryl Costigan of Brampton, Ontario; five grandchildren Paul, Corey, Kelsey, Gavin, and Breanne; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her infant son Paul William, and two brothers Bruce Alexander, and Kenneth Alexander.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at 11 am, from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Alice Szemok.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Miramichi Food Bank, Miramichi SPCA, or to a memorial of one's choice.
