It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jerry Joseph Mullin at home in Fort St. John, British Columbia, on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025, after a long battle with cancer at the age of 55. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, and raised in Miramichi, NB., he was the son of Benedict and Helen (Foran) Mullin.
Jerry attended Mount Allison University where he was proud to have played varsity Football. He later attended and graduated from COGS (Centre of Geographic Sciences) in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia. Jerry’s work as a Land Surveyor took him to Fort St. John in 1996, where he remained and worked for the rest of his career. Jerry was a Certified Land Surveyor registered to work in British Columbia and had passed the Examination requirements for Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Jerry worked for various survey companies; was the owner in multiple and most recently owned and operated his own Land Survey Company, Terrain Geomatics and owned and operated Relic Timber Salvage, his woodworking business.
Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, boating in the summer and sledding in the mountains during the winter. He was a great woodworker, creating beautiful pieces of furniture and a general jack of all trades fixing and creating for friends and family.
He is survived by daughters: Cait Mullin and Abigail Mullin both of Fort St. John, BC., Parents Ben and Helen Mullin of Miramichi, NB., Brothers Roger of Halifax, NS., Kirk (Kelly) of Miramichi, NB., Ashley Scriba (mother of daughters) of Fort St. John, BC., Nephews Nigel and Parker Mullin of Miramichi, Goddaughter Taylor (Foran) Pence of Blackfalds, AB.
Also his Aunts and Uncles, Marilyn Mullin, Patsy (Late Fred) Tozer (godparents), the late Theresa Mullin, Bernadette Mullin, the late Aloysius (Leanne) Mullin, Colleen (Ken) Fletcher, late Jeddy (Barb) Foran, Sonny (Judy) Foran, Pat (late Gerald) Baisley, late Irene (late Billy and late Lyman) Baisley-Hallihan, the late Claude Foran, the late Robert (Connie) Foran, Harry (late Joan) Foran, Delorous (late Norman) Hare, Reggie (Vaunda) Foran, Ricky (Donna) Foran, Blake (Sandy) Foran, Brenda (Larry) Allain, dear friend Erin Sproule and family and many many cousins and close friends.
Jerry was predeceased by Grandparents Lawrence and Mary (Kelly) Mullin and Douglas and Theresa (Estey) Foran.
Visitation will be held at Northumberland Funeral Home on Friday, September 12th from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm, with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Saint James Roman Catholic Church, Sevogle, on Saturday, September 13th, at 10 am, with interment at Saint James Catholic Cemetery in Sevogle, NB.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Fort St. John Legion, on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, from 2 to 6pm.
In memory of Jerry, donations can be made to the Saint James Catholic Church Cemetery Fund or to The Canadian Cancer Society.
