Jerry Donahue, husband of the late Mary Ellen Dorothy (Doris) Barry, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Born in Williamstown, NB on August 24, 1935, he was the son of the late James and Gertrude (Kelly) Donahue.
Jerry was predeceased by his siblings Lawrence, Herbert, Anne Marie, Robert, Mary and Timmy. He is survived by his sister Joan (late Gerry), and brothers Donald (Doris) and Cyril (Mary Jane). He is also survived by sisters-in-law Kay, Susan, Christine, and brother-in-law, Tony Conte.
Jerry is survived by his children Danny; Jane (Richard Butler) and their children Joseph, James and Jonathan (Natalia); Troy (Carla Crawford) and their son Sean; Jackie and her children Emma and Paul Hayes; Geraldine (Andrew Donovan) and their son Thomas (Aly).
In addition, Jerry is survived by Doris' family members; Arthur, Joseph, Adele, Judy, Terry, Linda, Greg, Brent and their families.
Jerry was a barber for 46 years and owner of Jerry's Barber Shop. He was proud of his involvement in the community and of his Irish heritage.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral will be held at St. Michael's Basilica, on Friday, May 2, at 11 am, with Father John Fraser officiating.
Donations in Jerry's memory can be made to Percy's Place, a charity of one's choice, or as Dad would appreciate, to perform an act of kindness.
Our sincerest appreciation to Dr. Gerard Losier for his exceptional care and dedication to our Dad. We would also like to thank Carolyn, Neva and Karen from Interigty Home Health Services for their care and support.
Our hearts are broken on the loss of our father however we take comfort knowing that he is reunited with our mother.
