Jennie Marie Schofield

November 11, 1933 — December 14, 2025

Jennie Marie Schofield, formerly of Renous, passed away at Losier Hall on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the age of 92.

Jennie was born on November 11, 1933, in Renous, New Brunswick. She was the youngest daughter of the late Weldon James and Katherine (Tozer) Schofield. She grew up on the homestead farm on Schofield Lane, Renous.

After graduating from school, she worked for a short while at the ammunition depot in Renous for the federal government before continuing her employment with the Department of Defence in Labrador, Nfld. Jennie eventually left that job, starting a new career in Montreal, where she worked in the industry of printing press sales. With her experience, Jennie and a fellow employee established a company that became internationally known for the sale of refurbished printing equipment. Jennie became the sole proprietor of the company and moved with the company to New York City, USA.

As time went by, Jennie eventually moved her company headquarters and established a home and a life in Kissimmee, Florida, until 2017. In 2017, Jennie moved to the Miramichi, where she continued to run her company until her 91st birthday, doing most business online with customers from around the world. In her life with the company, it allowed her to travel to various parts of the world on business and pleasure trips.

Jennie’s passion in life was her company. She took great pride in being an independent self-sufficient businesswoman for over 65 years and loved to talk about her successes and experiences from those years. In 2017, sensing the need for family support, she moved back to the Miramichi and eventually made her home at the Shannex Losier Hall until her death.

Jennie’s recreation in life while working in the USA was a love for the game of golf. Jennie also loved to paint and, until recently, worked on various pictures as well as reading and doing puzzles with the assistance of anyone who happened along. Jennie’s life represents strength and determination to her family.

Jennie will be greatly missed by her niece, June MacIvor (Late John), and nephews, Bob Taylor (Cindy), and James Love. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Anna Love (Harold) of Mactaquac and Glenna Taylor (Arnold) of Lower Derby, NB.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside burial will take place at Saint Andrews United Church, Blackville, at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Miramichi Community Food Bank.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home & Crematorium, 102 Pleasant St., telephone (506) 622-7741.
