  • It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of JeanGuy Pitre of Miramichi, formerly of Bathurst.

He passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Thursday December 16, 2021, at the age of 60 after a short battle with ALS.

Born and raised in Bathurst where he met and married his best friend, JeanGuy worked as an explosive technician for almost 20 years, working in numerous places across Canada. His last employment was as a long-haul trucker with Gold Line Transport Ltd. This had him traveling to many places across North America. The family would like to thank Gold Line for the respect and love they showed towards him. He was also a volunteer firefighter for many years. The last few he held the title of captain. He was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

JeanGuy enjoyed with his wife the open road on their motorbikes. He also enjoyed swinging the golf club with his brother-in-law Stuart, rain or shine.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Monique, his daughter Deidre Pitre of Bathurst, two sons Levi Lloyd (Jamie) of Utah and Chad Pitre (Bryanna) of Moncton. Eight grandchildren; Crystal, Lucy, Nadine, Hallie, Maliah, Mia, Pheobe and Ariella. Three special girls who he loved like his own grandchildren, to whom he was Pa-Guy; Kayla, Everly, and Elodie. He will also be missed by his God Children Sarah and Tyler and many nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private viewing. Funeral service will take place at Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel in Miramichi on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Eddy Edwards officiating. Please note that proof of full vaccination is required to attend and masks are mandatory.

    “…For all time and eternity”
