James Patrick Underhill, of Barnettville passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 73.

Born in Blackville, he was the son of the late James and Josephine (Sturgeon) Underhill. He retired as a Supervisor for Ocean Steel, in Saint John, and was a member of St Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, in Blackville.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Beulah (Curtis); two daughters Angela Underhill (Tracey) and Cheryl Underhill (Michael Sproul) both of Blackville; three sons Edward (Teddy) of Barnettville, Troy (Melanie) of Blackville, and Brent (Darlene) of Blackville; four sisters Mavis Underhill of Barnettville, Carolyn Coughlan (Cameron) of Blackville, Susan McEvoy (Weldon Jr.) of Blackville, and Corliss McKay of Fredericton; one brother Trueman (Darlene) of Barnettville; nine grandchildren Dillan Hogan (Janessa), Zachary Walls, Lindsay Underhill, Kendra Underhill, Jorja Augustine, Amelia Underhill, Madison Underhill, Deidre Underhill, and Scott Underhill; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister Villa Duffy.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Father AA McKinnon Memorial Hall, on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, from 7 to 9 pm, and on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at 11 am, from St Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, Blackville, with Father Joseph Okoko officiating.

As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the NB Lung Association, or to a memorial of one's choice.
