James William (Billy) O'Toole

James William “Billy” O'Toole, 63 years of age and lifelong resident of Miramichi, passed away in the early hours of January 15, 2026 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Monique (Gallen), as well as their three daughters: Erin Elizabeth (Spencer Pond) of Fredericton, Sara Catherine (Steven Kuhn) of Oromocto and Emily Rae (Ryan Doyle) of Miramichi, two grandsons named in his honour Mikaeus William-Spencer Pond and Joshua Robert William Kuhn, and granddaughter Trinity Amelia Ray Kuhn.

Billy also leaves behind his mother, Evelyn (Daley), and his siblings Kevin (Holly), Karen Johnson (Howie), Patty Lynn, Steven (Michelle), Brent (Kelly), and Peter (Carla) as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Kevin, sister Lorraine Katherine, and father James Raymond. While we will miss him dearly, we find comfort in knowing he will also be reunited with his Pop (Raymond Joseph) once again.

Billy showed up early, stayed late, and did things his own way. He is loved beyond words.

In keeping with his wishes, a visitation and brief service will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Northumberland Funeral Home from 2 pm to 4 pm. Family and friends are encouraged to bring photos, stories, and memories to share. Billy was a man to be celebrated, not mourned, and he leaves behind countless stories best told with laughter and a raised glass.
