Howard Elroy Dawson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Howard Elroy Dawson, of Halcomb, NB, which occurred on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Surrounded by his loving family, Howard passed away at the age of 50.

Born in Newcastle, NB, on January 2, 1976, Howard was the son of Gail (Stewart) Dawson and the late Gary Dawson.

In addition to his mother, Howie will be sadly missed by his sisters, Lisa (Jon) Vanderbeck and Tania (Chris) Kenny; his nieces, Kassondra Vanderbeck (Kris Tozer), Katie Vanderbeck, and Mallory (Ashton) Donovan; and his great-nieces, Kahli-Rae and Kamri-Lee Vanderbeck.

Howie will also be lovingly remembered by his extended family, Debra Lozier of Brockville, ON; Roy (Melissa) Losier of Kelowna, BC, and their children, Gryffin, Dominik, Ryan, Madison, Neeva, and Emma; and Dianna (Cole) Davis of Brockville, ON and their children, Addison, Sawyer, and Walker. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

As per the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A graveside service will take place at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy and in memory of Howie, donations may be made to Addiction and Mental Health Services – Miramichi, Jeremy’s Mission or to a memorial of one’s choice.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, with special thanks to Dr. Joe Rigley and ICU nurses, Jennifer and Luisa, for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion they provided to Howie and his family during this difficult time.
