Holly Joyce Taylor

February 11, 1956 — April 26, 2026

Holly Joyce Taylor of Miramichi passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the age of 70.

Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late Elsie (McKibbon) and William Taylor. Joyce was a member of the River Church in Sillikers and was known for her strong work ethic and adventurous spirit. Over the years, she held a variety of roles, including serving in the Canadian Army, working with Atcon Construction, and spending time as a tree planter—experiences that reflected her resilience and love of the outdoors.

Joyce had a deep love for her family and treasured every moment spent together. She was creative at heart, finding joy in painting and expressing herself through her artwork. She also had a special love for playing the bagpipes, and those who knew her will fondly remember the sound of her music carrying across the air. She had a spark for adventure, a deep appreciation for nature, and a contagious laughter that could brighten any room. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Joyce was known for her kindness and generosity, never hesitating to support those around her.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Michelle Stewart (Drew) of Sillikers; her sister, Emeline Parsons (late Lou) of Shannex; her brothers, Terry Taylor (Trudy) of Strathadam, Mike Taylor (Georgina) of Douglastown, and Bruce Taylor (Mollie) of Matthews Settlement; her brother-in-law, Vincent O'Shea of Miramichi; and her cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Brynn, and Nyah. She also leaves behind a special niece, Adrienne (Mike MacKay), along with their children, Taylor and Kennedy, as well as many nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her sisters, Lois Sutherland and Carla O’Shea and brother-in-law Jimmy Sutherland.

Visitation will be held at Northumberland Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 5 pm to 8 pm. A graveside service will take place at Back Road Cemetery on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Leslie Somers officiating.

Her memory will live on in every sunset, every laugh shared, every note of music carried on the wind, and every act of kindness.

As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to a memorial of one’s choice.
